Contribute to the Health Center Disaster Relief Fund
The North Carolina Community Health Center Association is now accepting donations to our Disaster Relief Fund to deliver needed support to community health centers and staff impacted by Hurricane Helene.
Eleven NC Community Health Centers that operate sites in disaster counties have been impacted by property damage, displaced staff, lack of water and power, and lost revenue that is essential to daily operations and sustainability.
Despite suffering directly from Helene, impacted Community Health Centers (CHCs) in Western NC have been serving on the frontlines of Helene response and recovery in their communities in the following ways:
- Bringing health care services out to communities in need, including vulnerable populations and heavily impacted areas in the days after the disaster.
- Volunteering their medical and mental health providers to care for displaced residents in temporary shelters and facilities.
- Rapidly reopening community health centers and pharmacies, even while utilities remained down, supplies were short, and staff faced personal impacts, and
- Distributing essential supplies and resources beyond health care to their communities, including water, food, and warm clothes and tents.
These health centers have stepped up to provide incredible service to their communities, acting immediately after the storm to re-open sites and volunteer in shelters, public housing complexes, and senior living centers, bringing care to their most vulnerable neighbors.
Now it’s our turn to support these health care heroes and help them rebuild their communities:

Disaster Fund Donate by Mail Form
Enter your information on our donate by mail form so we have a record of your donation and can be on the lookout for your check in the mail.
By donating to the NCCHCA Disaster Relief Fund, you will be reaching multiple health centers at once to support recovery for health centers and give them needed resources to continue providing affordable medical and mental health care, medication, and hope to impacted communities.
Health centers know their communities and they will choose how they use donations. Funding may be utilized to repair health center buildings and equipment, fuel mobile units for outreach to vulnerable community members, support employees or CHC board members who have lost homes, cars, or personal belongings due to disaster, or allow health centers to meet payroll.
You can designate your donation to the CHC operation fund or the CHC staff recovery fund, or equally split your contribution, on the payment form.
Contact: If you have any questions about the Disaster Relief fund or would like to speak to someone about donating volunteer time or supplies, please email Alice Pollard, NCCHCA’s VP of Member Services and Operations, at pollarda@ncchca.org.
